How to play number match
Clear every number. Choose one number, then choose its partner.
- The two numbers must be equal or add to 10.
- They must share a row or a column. Every cell between them must already be empty. Neighbors have no cells between them.
- A valid pair disappears. Other numbers stay where they are.
This small-board version has no diagonal matches, row-end connections or extra numbers. There is no timer.
Try the first board
Choose 1, then 9. They are neighbors and add to 10, so they clear. Clear 2 with 8, 3 with 7, then 4 with 6 to finish.
Equal pairs work too: 4 can pair with another 4. A 4 can also pair with 6. A matching value cannot jump over a number still on the board.
If you get stuck
Hint shows a pair that starts a complete clearing route from your current board. Clear pair applies it. Some legal choices can leave a board that cannot be cleared; in that case, Hint explains how many recent pairs to undo and lets you restore them.
Undo restores the last cleared pair and clears your current selection and hint. Before any pair is cleared, it just clears the selection and hint. Restart puts all numbers back after confirmation.
Practice and Daily
There are 36 original boards: 12 at each size. Practice cycles through those 12 boards and resumes their saved attempts. Each size keeps its own Practice position.
Daily uses the same collection and repeats every 12 days at each size, using UTC dates. An open Daily board keeps its date until you choose Play today’s board. Continue in practice returns to your current Practice board.
On an unfinished attempt, Next board asks before moving on. The older attempt returns when Practice cycles back to it. Older Daily records remain saved, but there is no date picker to reopen them.
Touch and keyboard
Tap or click the two numbers. Select the first number again to cancel it. On the board, use the arrow keys to move focus and Enter or Space to select. U undoes when focus is in the game and outside the size selector.
Progress saves in this browser. If saving fails, the game keeps your current attempt in the open tab and explains how to retry. Do not close the tab before recovering unsaved moves.
